Hartlepool United vs. West Ham

Hartlepool made it into the fourth round of the FA Cup.  For those not into soccer/football check out the wikipedia article for an explanation.

Teams from different leagues get to play each other in a random draw. Getting into the fourth round was a big deal.  They played admirably and lost to West Ham on 2 goals gotten at the end of the first half.

Driving by Victoria Park the night before we saw loads of media trucks parked outside ready for the big match and ASDA was selling commemorative scarves to mark the occasion.

Posted belatedly, there’s always next year.

Will post my favorites on this tumblelog. The match was against Swindon Town and the score ended tied 1-1. It was my first live football match - very fun but also pricey - £20 for an adult ticket. I understand tickets are a lot more for premier league games but for two people to go £20 each is a lot.

Hartlepool United are in the Coca Cola Football League 1 after being promoted last season. There’s a great wikipedia article explaining the different leagues.
