The Aliens at the Studio
Good gig.  Openers were a local band LSD (Lithium Speed Dementia) and Lemonade a group living in Brooklyn (tee hee). LSD (Lithium Speed Dementia) were a young trio from Hartlepool. I don’t imagine it’s an easy gig when your group makes up nearly half the people in the venue when you go onstage. For their later songs a friend[?] started to dance on his own in front of the stage.  for the last...

Classic Car Rally Was Fun
There was a classic car rally held in the car park of Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience yesterday.  There were loads of cars, gorgeous weather and a great crowd.  I will be posting photos soon. My faves were the Edsel, a couple of Pontiacs that reminded me of my childhood, the minis and the Rovers.  We just got a new (old) Rover which may have affected me.

A Hartlepool Shopping Riddle
When is 24 hours not 24 hours? When you try to go to ASDA or Tesco after 10:00 PM on a Saturday night…24 Hours is written in huge letters and you have to get really close to read the fine print. They only mean on weekdays.  They close at 22:00 on a Saturday and are open on Sunday from at 10:00 - 16:00. At least the ATMs at ASDA are outside so it wasn’t a totally wasted journey.

Hartlepool United vs. West Ham
Hartlepool made it into the fourth round of the FA Cup.  For those not into soccer/football check out the wikipedia article for an explanation. Teams from different leagues get to play each other in a random draw. Getting into the fourth round was a big deal.  They played admirably and lost to West Ham on 2 goals gotten at the end of the first half. Driving by Victoria Park the night before we...
